Gracie Howley
President
Gracie is in her last year studying Kinesiology & Rehabilitation Science. She is interested in exercise physiology, the fitness testing industry, performing research, and eventually starting her own business. Outside of the classroom, Gracie loves weightlifting and in 2024 wants to begin competing as a powerlifter. She grew up in Santa Cruz county, California. She transferred from Cuesta Community College where she played middle blocker on their volleyball team (Go Cougs!). Gracie encourages students to tap into their UH community. There are many great, free, resources available for students. Such as the Food Vault which provides free food on campus! Also, to put yourself out there professionally, socially, creatively, etc. There is only one person who can bring your unique set of skills and experience to the table, and that person is you.

Jiin Park
Vice President
Jiin is a senior and studying Kinesiology & Rehabilitation Science to pursue a future career in physical therapy. He was born in Korea and grew up there for 15 years. He moved to Hawaii in 2015 and went to President Theodore Roosevelt High School. During his free time, Jiin enjoys playing soccer, watching soccer games, playing instruments, listening to music, and spending time with his friends and family. One tip that he has for students is to seize the day. Staying positive, being thankful for the given day, and enjoying the moment helped him to overcome challenges in his life and enjoy his life.

Zach Oglesby
Field Chair Zach is a senior from Mililani, Hawaii double majoring in Kinesiology and Exercise Science & Public Health. His current goal is to attend medical school and double specialize in emergency medicine and rural health. During his free time Zach likes to go to the beach, hang out with friends, drink coffee and sleep. One tip that he has for students is to remember that no matter how hard you work, it is always really important to take time for yourself to relax and recharge. Just like how the muscles in your body need a rest day, so does your brain.

Ianthe Pretorius
Field Chair
Ianthe is a third year transfer student majoring in Kinesiology: Health and Exercise Science. She is originally from South Africa but has been attending school in Northern California. She is interested in being a PT or a PA. When she is not studying, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach, weightlifting, and traveling! Her advice to other students is to keep an open mind when looking for and engaging in career opportunities. Chloe Kim

Chloe is a junior studying Kinesiology & Rehabilitation Science and is currently open to all career options. With her degree, she hopes to find a career where she can integrate her passion and knowledge about mental, physiological, and anatomical relationships. Chloe is from Atlanta, Georgia and has been in undergrad in Hawai’i for the past two years. During her free time she enjoys baking, drawing, surfing, doing yoga, weightlifting, and watching Breaking Bad. Chloe advises her peers to always remember that everyone's career journey looks different and to never let others discourage you!

Bret Freemyer, PhD, ATC
Advisor
Dr. Freemyer is an Assistant Professor in the KRS department at UH Manoa. He teaches in both the masters Professional Athletic Training Education Program & undergraduate exercise science program, and serves as co-director of the Human Performance and Biomechanics Lab. Dr. Freemyer completed his masters and doctoral work at the University of Hawai'i, Mānoa and attended California State University, Northridge as an undergraduate athletic training student. His research interests include biomechanics, clinical strength assessments, his preservation, and injury prevention interventions. His clinical experiences as an athletic trainer the past 15 years have covered the secondary schools, the military, and physical therapy clinics.
Jamie McMullen, PhD
Advisor
Dr. Jaimie McMullen (Dr. J to her students) is an Assistant Professor in the KRS department at UH Mānoa. She teaches in the undergraduate program and her area of expertise is in health and physical education teacher education. Dr. McMullen is a proud alumna of the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and graduated from the KRS program with a Bachelor of Education in 2004. She later received her Masters from the University of Northern Iowa, and her PhD from Arizona State University. She has over 17 years of teaching experience, serves in many professional service capacities, and conducts research associated with school physical education and physical activity.
